The Army is responsible for the ethical design, generation, support and application of landpower. To accomplish its mission the Army embraces its dual nature as a military department of government and a trusted military profession. Both are essential to accomplish the mission. As a department we are one Army consisting of three components and as a profession we have two communities of practice. (Abridged)
